The Nationals Official of the Year recognises an official who lives in the Mid West region and continues dedication to their sport, evidenced by achieving great things locally and beyond.

Thank you for choosing to create a nomination for the Nationals Official of the Year Award.

The committee has revisited the award criteria for 2026 to streamline the application process. Please complete all online sections truthfully and completely as the judging committee will seek to verify the responses.

All award nominations are to be based on the period 1 October 2025 - 30 September 2026 except for the Sports Personality of the Year which is assessed based on the long-term service to sport by an individual.

Endorsement

Nominations must be lodged by a Mid West Sports Federation member organisation and must be endorsed by a local Association and/or State Sporting Association. Exceptions will be made for those without an association on a case-by-case basis.

Family Nominations

The preference is that the nominating person is not a family member though we are aware that parents serve on boards. Please ensure that nominations originate from organisation or board email addresses.

Residence

All nominees must currently reside in the Mid West region and have done so for at least two years. The key shires comprising the Mid West region include: Carnamah, Chapman Valley, Coorow, Cue, Irwin, Meekatharra, Mingenew, Morawa, Mount Magnet, Murchison, Northampton, Perenjori, Sandstone, Three Springs, Yalgoo, Wiluna and the City of Greater Geraldton.

Local Participation

All nominees must have competed, officiated, administered and/or coached at a minimum of 6 local events to be considered for these awards.
